AnimotMUZIK I – Gašper Livk, kontrabas

Improvisation and interaction with the eight-channel composition INSECTA Cantata by composer Brane Zorman, as part of the sound exhibition AnimotMUZIK | Inter-species music cycle.

The zoomusicological cycle is a sonic exploration that encourages participating artists to interact and create with non-human animals. During each concert evening, several different musicians will improvise to the same composition, made from the sounds and music of non-human animals.
Double bassist Gašper Livk is a final-year master’s student at the Academy of Music. He is engaged in contemporary performative practices and is actively involved in the contemporary music scene both within and beyond the academy. He performs in Slovenia and internationally. Livk is assistant to the artistic director Dre Hočevar in the Re_humanization cycle and executive producer at Studio 8. In 2017 and 2018, he performed at Darmstadt Ferienkurse Open Space, Klangspuren Schwaz, Borderless Dissonance, Ljubljana Jazz Festival, Improcon, Jazzinty, and other concert series in Ljubljana. His ensemble works include Celota (2016) and Kurirano nenotirano ABLB’L’A” (2018).
